Sustanon: Summary

Sustanon is a very unique substance. Most substances offer a single compound within its serving, only providing one type of compound with a set rate of release, which is dictated by its chemical delivery agent, known as an ester.

However, a  Sustanon injection actually contains a mixture of a diverse set of ingredients.

While the basic ingredients of each of these substances are the same as that of the testosterone compound, each of the ingredients has a different ester attached to it to provide a varied release time for each of the compounds.

Injectable Sustanon thus causes a series of testosterone compounds to be released at different, and sometimes simultaneous, rates.

This was why the compound was originally designed, in an effort to provide a substance that could offer a more sustained level of release in the body without requiring multiple administrations.

Sustanon 300 mg contains a mixture of 80 milligrams of Testosterone Propionate, along with 60 milligrams of Testosterone Phenylpropionate, 60 milligrams of Testosterone Isocaproate and 100 milligrams of Testosterone Decanoate.

Because all of the basic ingredients function the same, Susta 300 mg acts on the body in the exact same way as each of its ingredients individually.

Susta 300 works through releasing its ingredients into the body, which then bind to androgen or related receptors to cause a boost in protein production within the muscle as well as increasing the amount of protein that the body can retain.

It also increases the amount of satellite cells that both circulate in the muscle and join the muscle to allow greater growth and regeneration.

This is because a good level of increased lean mass, strength and improved recovery can be obtained with only one Sustanon injection every week, which falls behind the more usual 2-3 administrations in a given week.

Sustanon dosages of 300 milligrams each week should provide satisfactory results for most beginner athletes and bodybuilders.

For more advanced athletes this dosage could be doubled. However, it should be noted that increasing the dose of any of these substances will cause an increase in the risk of adverse effects. These potentially negative events will be further examined below.

Negatives Of Sustanon Usage

Injectable Sustanon, like any compound that is used to boost performance, holds a risk of adverse effects.

The first of which, as mentioned above, is that the substance likely will not provide a constantly peaked level of its drug throughout its use, as could be the case in theory.

Side effects of Sustanon usage include those which are found from each of the mixes individual ingredients. These are:

• Cardiovascular effects – these include a rise in Low Density Lipoprotein cholesterol and a simultaneous decrease in High Density Lipoprotein cholesterol, both of which increase the risk of plaque buildup and subsequent cardiac issues. It can also reduce the plasticity of the blood vessels and increase the size of the heart.
• Estrogen-related effects – these events can include a higher blood pressure along with higher water retention and fat storage. Other effects can include the occurrence of gynecomastia.
• Androgenic effects – these involve oily skin and the occurrence of acne as well as an acceleration of baldness in those who are genetically predisposed to it. In women, it can include virilization, which is the formation of male traits such as a deeper voice, squarer face and clitoral enlargement.
• Endogenous hormone suppression – the use of these types of substances will always suppress your body’s natural production of its own hormones. But, the use of the supraphysiological doses taken in the drug means any subsequent negative events are prevented.

It is also important to remember that any of Sustanon undesirable effects can be successfully managed.

In terms of the estrogen-related effects, this can be done by including either an aromatase inhibitor, such as anastrozole, which prevents certain enzymes in the body from creating estrogen from the drug.

You can also use a Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator, or SERM, which act to block the receptors that the estrogen binds to and prevents it from having any effect on the body.

For the androgen-related effects, including a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, like finasteride or dutasteride, which blocks a chemical that causes the conversion of the drug into dihydrotestosterone that can cause many of the above events.

But, it should be noted that complete conversion cannot be prevented, as this is part of how the substance functions in the body.

Sustanon Vs. Testosterone Cypionate

Sustanon, because of its sustained levels in the body, is an ideal drug for bulking phases, where the goal is to boost size and strength.

This is also true of Testosterone Cypionate, which is also an often sought after substance during these phases.

Both of the compounds are also basically the same when it comes to their active ingredient and where they differ is in their release into the body after its injection.

Injectable Sustanon, as explained above, has multiple chemical release agents and acts to cause multiple spikes in the body after it has been taken. In contrast to this, the simpler steroid has a more gradual release in the body with only one spike, directly after injection.

Both are effective in promoting lean tissue accretion, enhanced recovery, strength and power. But the cypionate drug will require a higher injection rate and will not enjoy as many spikes, no matter how mild, as the sustanon drug.

Also, considering that 300 milligrams of the drug is provided for every milliliter of oil-based solution, as opposed to the more common 100-milligram dosage for every 1 milliliter of solution in most individualized substances, this also means that the mixture provides greater value when looked at on a dose-per-dose basis. 

This gives the Susta 300 mg compound a potential advantage in this scenario, and, along with the higher cost efficiency it offers, may be worth considering, even by more elite level athletes who are simply looking to save money when including more substances into their routine.
